As head of biology, Dr. Zhou oversees the development of Atheron Therapeutics’ pipeline, the formulation of R&D strategy, and in charge of biology platforms.

Dr. Zhou has more than 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading small molecule and biologics pre-clinical development strategy and execution on more than a dozen programs. He has extensive experience in oncology and Immunity-Inflammation drug development, ranging from early discovery and pre-candidate selection to late-stage development across multiple indications at both small biotechnology and large pharmaceutical companies.

Prior to joining Atheron Therapeutics, Dr. Zhou served as head of in vitro pharmacology at Simcere Pharmaceutical Group, where he led the preclinical development of multiple novel small and large molecule therapeutics, spanning oncology, immunology, inflammation, and infectious diseases. Previously, Dr. Zhou was the head of Biology at HUTCHMED. Over his career in industry, Dr. Zhou has been a scientific leader on more than 12 successful IND applications and the development of four marketed drugs, including FRUZAQLA®, SULANDA® ORPATHYS®, and XIANNUOXIN® .

Dr. Zhou earned his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from Fudan university.

Dr. Youxi Chen currently serves as Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Atheron Therapeutics, where he is fully responsible for building the company’s medicinal chemistry platform and advancing its drug discovery programs. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Lanzhou University and earned his Ph.D. from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the guidance of a leading expert in organic chemistry, establishing a strong foundation in scientific research. Over the years, Dr. Chen has focused intensively on medicinal chemistry and is the inventor of nearly 100 granted patents.

Prior to joining Aslon, Dr. Chen held key positions at well-known Chinese pharmaceutical companies, including Hengrui Medicine and Hisun Pharmaceutical, where he gained extensive experience in innovative drug discovery and team leadership. He has either led or played a central role in multiple small-molecule drug discovery projects, successfully advancing several clinical candidates into human trials. His expertise encompasses target validation, lead compound optimization, drug-likeness assessment, and early-stage CMC development—demonstrating a comprehensive and hands-on understanding of the entire drug discovery process.

Since joining Atheron in early 2025, Dr. Chen has swiftly assembled a highly skilled, passionate, and high-performing medicinal chemistry team. Under his leadership, the company’s pipeline has progressed rapidly, with significant improvements in both R&D efficiency and quality. His contributions are providing powerful momentum toward Aslon’s vision of building a world-class, efficient small-molecule innovation platform, firmly positioning the company on the global stage of pharmaceutical innovation.

Vice President, CMC

Directs the company’s global CMC development and manufacturing strategy, providing a strong foundation for the efficient progress and successful commercialization of pipeline drugs.

With nearly two decades of experience in biopharmaceutical R&D and management, Mr. Fan Jiang is a seasoned expert in the field. He has extensive knowledge of the technical and regulatory landscape for CMC development, spanning from PCC to NDA. Throughout his career, he has led CMC development for more than 40 innovative drug programs, over 20 of which have advanced into clinical development, with 4 having achieved market approval.

Before joining Atheronmed, Mr. Fan served as Senior Director of CMC Development at Haisco Pharmaceutical, where he was responsible for API process development, regulatory registration, and post-approval process change studies for the majority of the company’s innovative drug. He brings deep expertise in solid-state development, process design and optimization, regulatory affairs, and supply chain management.

Since joining Atheronmed in late 2025, Mr. Jiang has taken full responsibility for shaping and implementing CMC strategy across the R&D pipeline. He has quickly established a high-performing CMC team, enabling efficient internal collaboration and effective oversight of external CRO and CDMO partners. This has delivered robust technical support for accelerating pipeline progression.

Mr. Fan Jiang earned both his bachelor’s and graduate degrees from Sichuan University. He is the author of several SCI-indexed publications and holds more than 70 invention patents.

Dr. Tammy Wu currently serves as Medical VP at Atheron, leading clinical development for company assets.
With over 10 years in pharmaceutical R&D, Dr. Wu has held management positions in clinical development and medical communications at domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, including Eli Lilly, CStone and Simcere Zaiming, driving assets from IND to commercial launch. As Senior Director of Clinical Science at Simcere Zaiming, she led global clinical development of oncology programs including bispecific antibodies, ADC and small molecules.
She holds an MD from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and a PhD in Immunology from the University of Connecticut.
